This Saturday, October 25th, Jack Brooks: Monster Slayer will be playing in Chicago at the Music Box Theatre as part its 24 Hour Horror Marathon!!!  Jack Brooks’ screening time is at 7:45am following the film Pieces.   Other films that are also part of this horror marathon include The Exorcist and The Midnight Meat Train.   Tickets are $27 in advance and $33 at the door and these tickets give you access to all movies throughout the entire 24 hour period.   Checking out these horror films would be a great way to kick off the Halloween season so buy your tickets today!

Jack Brooks: Monster Slayer made its UK debut on DVD last week and today it officially goes on sale throughout North America.   Just like the UK version, the DVD features plenty of bonus material and if you pick up a copy at Best Buy, you get the exclusive 2 disc version that features Brookstreet Pictures’ first short film “Teen Massacre.”  Reviews of the Jack Brooks DVD have already been great, so if you didn’t get a chance to see it in theatres definitely check it out on DVD!

The Jack Brooks: Monster Slayer DVD is on sale now throughout the United Kingdom.   The DVD is loaded with bonus features including deleted scenes and a behind-the-scenes look at the making of Jack Brooks: Monster Slayer.   It also features interviews with the director Jon Knautz, as well as the stars of the film, Trevor Matthews and Robert Englund so it’s definitely worth checking out!!

Exciting news for all you monster slayer fans!  You can be a part of the official Monster Slayer’s Union by signing up at themonsterslayers.com.   If you become a member of the union, you have a chance to win $2500.00 and will have access to many more exclusives from the movie!!

Also exciting is that Jack Brooks: Monster Slayer will be featured as part of Fantastic Fest in Austin, Texas taking place later this month.  Jon and Trevor are going to be heading down to Austin to attend the  first screening of Jack Brooks, which is taking place on Saturday, September 20th at 11:55pm at the Alamo S. Lamar Cinema.  They’ll be there to answer any and all of your questions about the film. If you can’t make it on Saturday though, there will also be a screening on Tuesday, September 23rd at 11:25pm.

Jack Brooks:  Monster Slayer is on the cover of this month’s issue of Fangoria Magazine!  Fangoria is one of the most widely distributed magazines dedicated to the horror genre.  The issue features a six page story that includes interviews with Jon Knautz, Trevor Matthews, and Patrick White as well as composer Ryan Shore.   The guys talk about the whole process of making Jack Brooks and also give a little insight into what’s next for Brookstreet Pictures.  It’s available now and it’s definitely worth checking out!!

This Saturday, Jon will be in Toronto to attend Rue Morgue’s Festival of Fear.  Look out for him at the Jack Brooks: Monster Slayer booth on Saturday afternoon.  Make sure to stop by and ask him all the questions you want about Jack Brooks!

Jack’s trip to Comic Con was an awesome experience for the guys this past weekend!  Jon, Patrick, and Trevor all made the trip down to San Diego where they met up with Robert Englund, Ryan Shore, and David Scott.   They all participated in a panel discussion for Anchor Bay films where they was a group of about 300 people gathered in the audience!  We had the actual Prof Monster from the film set up at the Anchor Bay booth and it was a huge hit with the Comic-Con attendees.   It looked awesome (see pic below) thanks to David Scott who fixed it up to look like it did in the film and had it shipped down to the Con.  The guys were busy with interviews (click here and here to see a few) and parties the whole time they were there and Trevor was even lucky enough to party with Ludacris!!Be sure to check the official Jack Brooks website regularly for a new video blog from Comic-Con!!  

For those of you who live in and around the San Diego region or are planning to attend San Diego’s Comic-Con, be sure to stop by the Anchor Bay table this Thursday (July 24th) where the Jack Brooks guys will be taking part in a panel discussion beginning at 2:15 pm PST.  Trevor Matthews, Robert Englund, Jon Knautz, Ryan Shore, David Scott, and Patrick White will all be there answering questions about the film and showing a few sneak-peek clips!

This past weekend, Jack Brooks held official premieres in both Toronto and Ottawa.  The audience at Thursday night’s Toronto screening loved the film and were so excited to get a chance to talk with Robert Englund during the Q&A!  Many of the rest of the cast and crew were there to see the film for the first time as well!  The following night, Robert traveled back to Ottawa with us to debut the film to all of our Ottawa cast and crew who were also very impressed with Jack!!
